FAQs

What happens in class?

At each class you’ll have a bag with a selection of instruments to join in with the music. I use a mix of nursery rhymes and games to explore different sounds and rhythms along with the opportunity to get hands on with a different real instrument every week!

What age can they start?

I have babies start as young as a few weeks old! Even from such an early age their brain is making new connections and learning from every experience. I also make my sessions relaxed and with time to chat so you can benefit from it too.

What ages are your classes for?

I advertise the classes for around 0-2yrs, I run mixed classes as it encourages upwards leaning and is suitable for a range of ages and abilities.  If you have an older child that you think would enjoy the class, or is of a younger developmental age, please feel free to bring them along - I run trial sessions every week so you don't have to commit to a block straight away.

What if my baby cries?

It’s very normal for little ones to have off days or feel a bit overwhelmed when they first start classes. Keep at it! They will settle into the classes and we’ve all been there - no one is judging you for having an unhappy baby.

Can I only do one set of classes?

No! As your child develops they will benefit in different ways from the classes making them perfect for repeat attendance. I also regularly add in new songs and games to keep things fresh and fun.  You can also move on to the 2-4yrs class as your baby gets older to explore the music in more depth.

What if I can't attend a session I've booked?

You’re always welcome to gift your place to someone else, just let me know if you can’t make it and who will be joining us in your place.

What are your qualifications?

I have BA Hons Degree in Music, as well as experience working in a Leeds Nursery. I also have a full DBS and am trained in Paediatric First Aid. I'm a mum too which also helps!

Do you do sessions for nurseries/childminders?

Yes! Get in touch and I can discuss with you what you want from the session and the links to EYFS Development Matters.

Do I have to sing?

It’s completely up to you. I encourage everyone to sing along, it’s about making music together and interacting with your child but if you’re really uncomfortable singing feel free to listen and dance along!

Do I need to stay?

Yes, the classes are designed for you to interact with your child, develop your bond, and give you ideas for activities you can do at home.

Do you run in the holidays?

Yes, I run all year round.

Can I book part way through a block?

Yes, classes run on a 6 week cycling schedule of songs and instruments, if you book a block it doesn’t matter where in the cycle we are you will get 6 unique classes.

Can I feed during class?

Baby’s aren’t the best at sticking to a schedule! But don’t worry, all my classes are feeding friendly in whatever way works best for you.

Do you offer trial sessions?

Yes!  You can book a trial and see how the sessions work before committing to a block.  I offer a Flexi ticket as well so you can pick which 6 weeks you want to attend in case there's a date you can't make.
