I have listed the classes as 0-2yrs, however this is just a guide and if you feel your child will enjoy the class but is older than 2 please feel free to book a trial.
Little Leeds: The space is accessible by ramps and there are no steps when arriving through the main entrance. Entry through the back door has a small step and a very tight turn. There is free on street parking available.
The Den: The site is accessible by lift as well as stairs and there are no changes in the floor levels in the venue itself. 3hrs free parking is available at the Arndale Centre.
The Little Hub: There is on street parking outside the building with no steps leading to the entrance. Inside is all on ground level, the toilet is small and accessible down a short corridor that isn't very wide, however the baby change is in the main room.
Rothwell Baptist Church:
The is an on-site free carpark with step free access in to the building. The room I use is on the ground floor with good size corridors to access. The toilet and baby change is directly opposite the room and is a large sized space.
Wetherby Town Hall: The room is on the ground floor and the Town Hall has ramp access on both sides of the steps. The corridors are very wide and there is plenty of space in the room itself.
The majority of the class takes place seated on the floor with space in the middle for the movers to roam freely. If you need a chair for the class please let me know when booking and I can make sure one is available. Some songs involve bounces and jumps which requires lifting but this is completely optional. I move around the room to come to you with the instrument for any non-mobile children.
The space is well lit throughout the session. If attending classes at The Den the lights are turned off during the bubbles section of class to allow for sensory lights to be displayed on the ceiling.
Music will be played throughout the session but at a safe volume to provide a backing to the signing. There will also be the noise of the children playing a variety of percussion instruments. I keep my classes capped at 10 children so it doesn’t become too overwhelming.
Each instrument that I bring has a different volume but I take care to make sure none are too loud and can adjust the volume where possible - although some instruments are acoustic (with no electrical amplification) and so there is a limit to how quiet it can be.
All are welcome to my class however you identify. My pronouns are she/her, please feel free to let me know yours!
My classes include time and space to chat with others and at times this can include topics such as birth trauma, feeding issues, pregnancy loss etc. While I have personal experience in some of this topics I am not trained in mental health.
If you have a trigger that you feel may come up either in or before the class please let me know (if you are comfortable to do so). Where possible I will avoid that trigger or steer the conversation away from that area.
